George W. Hensley, III, age 73, of Canal Winchester, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born June 3, 1941 in Huntington, WV, to the late George Hensley, II and Velma Marie (Newman) McGhee. He was a retired civilian employee from the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion.
Survived by his sons, Gregory Hensley, Whitehall, and Alan Hensley, Alabama; grandchildren, Nichole (James) Mann, Matthew (Nickie) Hensley, Charlie Hensley; great-grandchildren, Devin & Joshua Mann; sisters, Trelma Lee (Arthur) Fuller, and Eileen (Buck) McComas, both of West Virginia; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Hensley in 1994; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hensley; and brothers, Thomas Hensley and James McGhee.
Friends may visit noon to 3 pm Tuesday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will follow at 3 pm with the Rev. Dr. H. Douglas Shriner officiating. Interment after at Union Grove Cemetery.
