Charles T. Carney III

Charles T. Carney III, age 72, of Pickerington, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born February 10, 1945 in Washington, PA to the late Charles and Marie Carney Jr.
Charles was a 1963 graduate of St. Vincent High School. He was a graduate Akron University, where he was also a member of the Lone Star Fraternity; Charles then received his masters from Central Michigan. He retired from AEP as a Senior Compensation Consultant. Charles was a Past President and member of the Columbus Compensation Association; board member of the United Way of Central Ohio.
He loved boating and Ohio’s beautiful parks and lakes. Charles was a member of the inaugural class of Ohio Watercraft Officers. He enjoyed bourbon and beer, loved music, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and season ticket holder.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dixie Ware; uncle, James Magnone.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Stephanie Carney; sons, Lane and Sara Ware, Jim and Aimee Carney; grandchildren, Maggie, Charlotte, Mathilda; sisters, Kathleen and Lenard Lapchynski, Susan and Michael Beeler; lifelong friends, Carl and Elaine Moore.
Family and friends may visit 4-6:30 pm on Wednesday, August 16 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH 43147, where a memorial service, officiated by Chaplain Kevin Kellogg will follow at 6:30 pm.
