Frances “Fran” Delande, age 83, of Canal Winchester, died Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Brookdale Lakeview Crossing. Born May 29, 1940 in Bridgeport, Ohio to the late Louis P. and Mary Ann (Demchok) Kotopka. She was a retired school teacher with Bridgeport City Schools and was inducted into the Bridgeport Education Hall of Fame.
Preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Delande, Sr. in 2012; brothers, Louis, Frank, and John Kotopka; and sisters, Marie Vargo, Eva Reynolds, and Pauline Carson.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Diane) Delande, Jr., Mentor, OH, David (Stephanie) Delande, Hilliard, and Darren Delande, Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Donald (Dani) Delande, III, Chelsea (Dom) Ilc, Drake Delande, Bo Delande, Spencer (Alicia) Delande, Chase Delande, Nathan Delande, Zachary Delande, and Nicholas Delande; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Caden Delande, Dylan, McKenzie, Abby, and Leo Ilc, Drake, Jr., Emmitt, and Logan Delande, and Bronco Delande; brother, Arthur (Marie) Kotopka; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Friday, April 5 at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. A Celebration of Life will follow across the street at the Charleston Lake Clubhouse.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the family in care of the funeral home in her memory. The family is deciding on an appropriate charity to honor her.
