Herbert E. Sharp, age 90, of Pickerington, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his residence. Born September 4, 1927 in Columbus to the late Herbert and Omeda (Day) Sharp, he was a graduate of Columbus South High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics (Borden), and was a member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church and the Pickerington Senior Center. He was a 46 year member, past-president and past-secretary of the Pickerington Lions Club.
Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jean S. Sharp last year; daughter, Omeda Kay West; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Sharp; and 13 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughter, Debbie (Rick) Marx, Canal Winchester; son, Herbert Glen Sharp, Millersport; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday with the Rev. Owen Stotts officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
There will be a Lions service 7:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
