Kathleen M. Runyon

Kathleen M. Runyon, of Holden, passed away in Newark, Ohio on February 5, 2018. Born July 2, 1921 to the late John and Elizabeth (Robertson) Mooney. She was retired from Logan County Schools and Holden Grade School, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Logan.
After she retired, she enjoyed activities in her church including singing with the choir, serving as an Elder and Deacon, and helping with the Advent and Lenten lunches. Kathleen enjoyed an active lifestyle and loved remaining in her community and church.
Survived by her daughter, Ellen Drewes, of Lancaster, OH; her sister, Jackie Daggett of New Bern, NC; niece, Jayne McGinn of New Bern, NC; granddaughters, Sarah Mettle of Pataskala OH, Noelle (Zac Hollister) of Bowie, MD; granddog, Brinkli of Lancaster, OH; dear friends, Anna Mary Curry of Logan and Barbara Mowery of Holden. She is also survived by Jake’s children whom she had the opportunity to help raise, daughter Lou Fithian of Fort Worth, TX and son David (Judy) of Olympia, WA, and their 57 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jake Runyon; son in law, Pastor David W. Drewes; brothers in law, Jim Daggett, David S. Runyon; sisters in law, Octavia Satterfield, Bessie Stewart, Nancy Watts; nephew, John Daggett; and Jake’s older children Mildred Reed, Keaton Runyon, and John Runyon, and granddaughter, Nancy Runyon.
A memorial service will be held Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Logan, WV with Rev. Tom Chafin and Rev. Charles Wood officiating. Private interment will follow.
Cremation has taken place by Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home in Pickerington, OH. Thank you to Generation Hospice in Newark, OH for their loving care of Kitty.
