Larry David Helber

Larry David Helber, age 78, of Canal Winchester, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2018 at Grant Medical Center. Born August 30, 1939 in Lancaster to the late Lester and Ruth (Morehead) Helber, he was a graduate of Groveport High School and The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the Columbus Police Force with 27 years of service.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Helber; sons, Mark (Patricia) Helber, Orient, and Matthew (Eva) Helber, Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Jared and Stephanie Helber, Danielle and Garrett Helber; sister, Kay (Jerry) Miller; nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Bittler.
A private funeral service will be held at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, Canal Winchester, with Pastor Tim Stout officiating.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Heritage Free Will Baptist Church, 575 Obetz Road, Columbus, OH 43207 in Larry’s memory.
