Marsha Murphy

July 27, 1953 ~ March 19, 2017 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Marsha Ann Murphy

Until her very last moment, she was the centerpiece of her loving family, the favorite of every feline and a shining example of strength, dignity and love. After a courageous fight, but all too fast illness, Marsha Ann Murphy (nèe Aldergate), of Pickerington, OH, peacefully joined her parents, John and Virginia Aldergate, in Heaven on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Among those who will miss her and always feel her presence are: adoring husband Audie Murphy; loving daughter, Jenifer Cottrell; Marsha’s favorite person in the entire world: grandson, Cole Cottrell, who proudly and affectionately calls Marsha his “Nannie”; devoted nephew Johnny Aldergate; loyal sister Betty (Chuck) Crites; much-loved kitties: Morton, Ben, Joey, Weezy, Knuckles and Goldie; and, countless family, friends and neighbors.

Marsha was born on July 27, 1953, in Dennison, Ohio, and moved to Pickerington in 1994 to continue her work with the United Parcel Service (UPS), from which she retired after more than 25 loyal years. When not taking care of her family in ways they may never even realize, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson, shopping, gardening, trips to the beach, hanging out by her pool and fun DIY projects. Marsha was a proud member of the Seton Parish in Pickerington, OH, and she volunteered for numerous organizations devoted to the care and welfare of felines.
Marsha always thought of and lived for others, and she would want us to celebrate her life rather than despair, shown by a quote she loved and lived by: “Live a good life. And in the end, it’s not the years in a life, it’s the life in the years.” Let us commit to live a good life for one of the best women we will ever know.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 5-8 p.m. at Dwayne Spence Funeral Home at 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, OH, 43147.
