Michael Beery

Michael Beery, age 74, passed away at home unexpectedly on April 29, 2017. Mike was enjoying retirement, attending grandchildren’s events, playing golf, spending time with family and friends, and he left this world too soon. He was a graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School and The Ohio State University where he was on the varsity wrestling team, serving as captain his senior year.

He was preceded in death by his father, George E. Beery. Mike is survived by his high school classmate and wife of 53 years, Judith; daughters, Kyndall (David) Potts, Paige (Geoff) VanFossen and Kara (David) Nicholls; beloved grandchildren, Jordan Potts, Parker VanFossen, Anne Potts, Anna VanFossen, Olivia Nicholls, Max VanFossen and Michael Nicholls; mother, Peggy Beery; sister, Karen (Ron) Porta and brother, Steve Beery.

Family and friends may visit 3:30-6:30pm on Thursday, May 4, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110 with a service to follow at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, a donation in Michael’s name to Shriners Hospitals for Children is suggested www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
