Rita Maria Darby

Rita Darby (Mitsch) born in Manheim, Germany on March 14th 1952 to George and Antonia Mitsch has passed away at home on April 12th, 2024 surrounded by family.

Rita was a strong woman who loved cooking German food, and drinking wine and diet coke. She was a hard worker her whole life working as a nursing aid up to only a month before her passing. Her whole life was devoted to caring for others.

She is survived by her son David (Mary) Darby and their daughter Nizhoni; her sister Gerlinde Potvin; daughter-in-law Kathy Darby and her sons Byron Darby and Christian Werts; niece Heather Browning; nephew Willie Watson; along with many loving friends and family members back home in Germany.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Steve Darby; son Steve Darby Jr.; sister Gabriele Watson; and brother-in-law Charlie (Mahala) Browning.

Friends are welcome to visit on Wednesday April 17th from 5:00-8:00PM at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME; 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. Graveside burial will be Friday, April 26th at 11:00AM at Franklin Hills officiated by Reverend Frank Priddy.
