Robert Ray Counts

Robert R. Counts, age 75, of Groveport, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born November 18, 1942 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Bernard and Cassie Counts. Robert served our country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He was a 45 year member of the UA Local 189 Plumbers and Pipefitters. Robert formed the Madison District Athletic Association; he created an association that brought multiple sports for multiple age groups for many years. He was an avid fan of Ohio State Buckeye athletics. Preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Inboden. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Counts; son, Robert (Elizabeth) Counts Jr.; great-grandchild, Kelsey; grandchildren, Becky, Ricky, Ruby, Diana, Sydney; siblings, Judy (Wayne) Sink, Brenda (Morgan) Pinkerman, Janet (Tom) Schwiederman; sister-in-law, Patsy (Lyn) Bell. Family and friends may visit 11-1:00 pm on Monday, February 12 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, 43110 where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. In Robert’s memory donations in his name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr, Columbus, OH 43231.
