Robert Duncan

Robert Lee Duncan, age 89, of Carroll was born on June 20, 1928 and was joyfully welcomed into heaven on September 17, 2017. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, in January 2017. For 67 years, she was the sun in his world. Robert leaves a legacy of five children: Debra (Jim) Kraner, Daniel (Mary) Duncan, Deena (Alex) Wilson, Darell (Susan) Duncan and Dayna (Lezlie) Duncan. He also leaves seven treasured grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was a private man, a gentleman, and a detailed thinker who overcame many hardships. He kept his own always-unhurried pace in life. Robert’s career was long and varied, and his gift for careful analysis led to many years with Grange Mutual Insurance Company. All his life Robert deeply valued his home and family, steady providing, lifelong learning and avid reading, excellent meals and an awareness of world news and political issues. He walked in quiet faith and faithfulness. Until we see him again, we’ll remember his broad shoulders, inquisitive blue eyes, and the gold cross he wore daily over his necktie. Our family is so thankful to Homestead Center and especially to our brother Dan and his wife Mary, for the loving care and tireless support given to Dad.

Family and friends may visit 6-8:00pm on Thursday, September 21, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Paul Barnes will begin at 11:00am on Friday, September 22, at the funeral home with one hour prior of visitation. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
