Sharon C. Floyd

Sharon C. Floyd, age 79, of Canal Winchester, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, with her family by her side. Born July 11, 1944, in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Nelson and Joyce (Nuttings) Graves.

Sharon, known as Sharry to all, spent her career in education. Her passion for knowledge and the ability to learn deep details of a topic lead to millions in grants for numerous institutions include Case Western Reserve. This was also shown in her personal life as she was an avid traveler. Be it navigating the Panama Canal with her parents and siblings or sending off her son and family to Alaska she always was thinking of the next place to visit.

An avid reader she would have knowledge on a wide range of topics. Sharry had a love of animals and for many years had cats and thoroughly loved visiting her “grand dogs.”
Her proudest and biggest joy in her life was the birth of her grandchildren. She loved watching them grow while attending numerous events for each one. She touched so many live and will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Floyd; and siblings, Maureen and Larry.

She is survived by her son, Nathaniel “Nat” Floyd; daughter-in-law, Tara Floyd; grandchildren, Chandler, Logan, and Brooke; sister, Tede Blas and children; and numerous cousins.

A visitation will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 1-2PM at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, CANAL WINCHESTER. A memorial service will be held at 2PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Columbus Area Humane Society.
