Violet "Vi" Kopaczewski

Violet “Vi” Kopaczewski passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on the morning of Jan. 15, 2018 at the age of 94. She was preceded by her husband Steve and 9 siblings.
She is survived by her son, Steve Jr., daughter in-law Nancy, grandchildren William, Kendra, Mark and Eric and her sister Mildred as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was loved by all who knew her. “She was loved greatly, because she loved greatly.”
A long-time resident of Pemberton Borough, New Jersey, Vi and Steve moved to Reynoldsburg, Ohio in 1997 to be closer to their family, which at that time consisted of 2 grandchildren not 4. After her husband’s passing in 2001, Vi began attending church regularly with her family, eventually becoming a member of Faithfully Family Fellowship in New Albany, Ohio which is now Faith Life Church in Johnstown, Ohio. Vi served in the nursery there for 14 years. Known as “Miss Vi”, she prayed over and influenced the lives of many children as well as touching the lives of their older siblings, parents and many others at the church.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and always went out of her way to help her family and others. She gave so much of herself and asked for so little in return. She was a truly wonderful person and child of God.
Vi always had an uncanny way with children. They would take to her immediately. As well as raising her own son, Vi held positions akin to a nanny for 5 families when she lived in New Jersey. Children were her passion and her talent. She will be greatly missed for her love, compassion and tenderness as well as her quick wit and ornery streak. There are too many wonderful memories to recount. I’ll just repeat the epithet from above, “She was loved greatly, because she loved greatly.” Miss you Mom. Love, Steve.
Friends may visit 6:30-8:30 pm Friday, January 26 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, and one hour prior to the funeral service 11 am Saturday, January 27 at Faith Life Church, 2407 Beech Road NW, Johnstown, OH 43031. Interment will be later in Pennsylvania.
