Barbara Susan McCoy

Barbara S. McCoy, age 69, passed away on January 21, 2021 in Lancaster, OH. She was born on April 18, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Ann Lucas. Barb had the unique ability to leave a mark on every person she met. She was outgoing, spunky, fierce, and overflowing with love. Her laugh and smile instantly lit up the room. She instilled in her friends and family her unique superstitions and quirky outlook on life. Two of her favorite pastimes were traveling and shopping; especially if her grandchildren were there with her. She found happiness in her two sons and husband of 51 years, whom she adored more than anything.
She is survived by her husband, Kenton McCoy; sons, Shawn (Jodi) and Heath (Alison) McCoy; grandchildren, Bailey (Zach) Spriggs, Madeline McCoy, Chloe McCoy, Campbell McCoy and Mason McCoy; great-grandchild, Simon Spriggs; brother, Robert Lucas; brother-in-law, Jimmy McCoy and several nieces and nephews. Barb is preceded in death by her parents and sisters-in-law, Margo Lucas and Mary Jo McCoy.
There will be private funeral services for the family. Entombment will be in Lithopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Barb’s memory to the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation, fmchealth.org/foundation.
