Betty Kathleen Stephens, age 84, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 in Columbus, OH. Born on January 9, 1938 in Gilbert, WV to the late Charles and Naomi Hatfield. She would go on to graduate from Gilbert High School in 1956. Betty loved traveling, flowers, crocheting, shopping, and especially, her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rex Stephens; children, Hobert (Susan) Payne Jr, Teresa (Arthur) Watterman, Tracy Stephens, and Tamera (Chad) Kennedy; grandchildren, Melissa Roberts, Chelsea Payne, Alexis (Travis) Groves, Zachary (Rachel) Payne, Corey (Rachael) Payne, Luke Kennedy, and Logan Kennedy; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Payne; and multiple siblings.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else can fill.
Friends may visit Friday, April 22, 2022 from 4-7pm at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME 650 W. Waterloo St Canal Winchester, OH 43110 where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens 5802 Elder Rd, Canal Winchester, OH 43110.
