Boneta “Bonnie” June Henkel, age 84, of Groveport, OH passed away April 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 10, 1933 in Columbus, Oh to the late Henry and Lauretta Gockenbach. She was a member of Groveport United Methodist Church. Bonnie loved her family, enjoyed listening to music, crafts and cards.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Gene P. Henkel; sister, Beverlee Crumley; three brothers, Henry Gockenbach, Jack Gockenbach and Don Gockenbach; sister-in-law, Alpheratta Small and brother-in-law, Darrell Henkel. Survivors include her four sons, Gary (Jeannie) Henkel, Gene (Carole) Henkel, Greg Henkel and Glen (Denise) Henkel; two sisters, Merrieanne (John) Young and Linda (Jerry) Groves; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Dave) Leonard and Lili Henkel; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit 4-8:00pm on Friday, May 4, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Jim Burge and Pastor Arthur “Chip” Koch will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, May 5, at Groveport United Methodist Church, 512 Main Street, Groveport, Ohio 43125. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Groveport United Methodist Church or Mt. Carmel Hospice.
