Carl Edward Rapp, age 94, of Lithopolis, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born October 14, 1922 in Lucasville to the late Walter & Carrie (Wagner) Rapp. He was a member of Lithopolis United Methodist Church. Carl served in World War II in the Army from 1943-1946 with the 451st Amphibian Truck Company in the Pacific, Guadalcanal, New Guinea and the Philippines. He worked at American Standard and was retired from Abbott (Ross) Laboratories.
Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mabel A. Rapp in 2013; and son, Myron “Moe” Rapp.
He is survived by sons, Edward (Becky) Rapp, Anthony (Darlene) Rapp, both of Lancaster, Douglas (Kim Gilbert) Rapp, Spring Hill, FL; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Rapp; grandchildren, Tammy (Pat) Muirfield, Angel (Bill) Coontz, Eddie (Erin) Rapp, Jennifer (Billy Simon) Rapp, Michelle (Eddie) Amick, Dustin (Tina) Rapp, Ryan Rapp, Jeremy (Julie) Rapp, Tanya (Reginald) Johnson, Amber (Jeremy) Milhoan; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; and best friend and companion, his little dog Marley.
Family and friends may visit 4-6 pm Sunday and 10-11 am Monday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 11 am Monday with Pastor Bill Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
