Our precious, loving husband, father, PaPa, brother and friend Carl A. Spencer, passed away peacefully Friday, September 28, 2018, surrounded by his family. Carl was a man filled with tremendous faith, love, laughter and lived life to the fullest, wasting not a single moment on this earth. He was born in Salem, Ohio on December 6, 1948 and is a graduate of The Ohio State University, a retired principal in the Lancaster School District, Director of Wagnalls Memorial, and has been Administrative Lay Pastor at Lithopolis United Methodist Church for the past 18 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathy Spencer; seven children, Lori (Kirk) Nichols, Chad (Jessica) Parker, Jenny Spencer, Adam (Natalie) Parker, Matt (Amy) Parker, Amy (Patrick) Stallworth, and Karry (James) Chaffin; eleven grandchildren, Sara, Drew, Jenna, Cade, Cassidy, Paige, Aiden, Zoey, James, Kate, and Ellie; sisters, Sherry (Danny) Patterson, and Sandy (Ed) Ridgeway. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl A. (Mary) Spencer Sr. Family and friends may visit 3:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 2, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A celebration of life service, officiated by Pastors Charles Martindell, Russ Tichenor, Bill Weaver and Alex Feldman, will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 3, at the Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 80 N. Market St, Lithopolis, OH 43136. In Carl’s memory, donations in his name can be made to Lithopolis United Methodist Church, Habitat for Humanity: Wallbuild. We will carry Carl’s love in our hearts forever.
