Carole Silvis

Carole L. Silvis, age 81, of Pickerington, formerly of Newton Falls, OH, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Pataskala Oaks Care Center. She was born November 10 (November 11), 1937 in Ford City, PA to the late Rhody and Florence (Greenawalt) Ryan. Carole enjoyed doing crafts and being outside doing yard work. She loved watching football, hockey and NASCAR races.  Her favorite teams were The Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers, Columbus Blue Jackets and cheered for NASCAR driver Tony Stewart. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Wayne, whom she married June 4, 1955 in Ford City, PA. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Lee Silvis. Carole is survived by her children, Dirk (Suzie) Silvis of Braidwood, IL, Cindy (Stan) Smith and Kellie (Jeffrey) Banyay, both of Pickerington, OH.  She will be dearly missed by grandchildren Brandon, Jordan, Haley, Josh, Jason, Shelby and Ashely, her brother Howard (Jack) Ryan of Arizona and sister Patricia Smith of South Carolina. She had many niece and nephews and numerous friends and loved ones. Family and friends may visit 3-6:00pm on Wednesday, November 21, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH  43147, where a service, officiated by Pastor Brad Gee, will follow at 6:00pm. A visitation from 5-7 pm will take place Friday, November 23 at the James Funeral Home, 8 E. Broad Street, Newton Falls, OH  44444.  A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, November 24 at Lutheran Cemetery.
