Charles A. Eyer, age 85, of Lancaster, died April 8, 2018 at Pickering House. He was born December 7, 1932 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Howard and Loretta Eyer. He was a graduate of Lafayette College where he played basketball and captained the baseball team which made two consecutive trips to the college world series. Chuck served two years in the US Army Signal Corps., one in Korea and retired from Nationwide Insurance in 1990 after 32 years of service.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Christi Eyer; Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cheryl; daughters, Lori (Jeff) Hegarty and Kelly (Aaron) Fogt; grandchildren, Ashley Evans, Tyler (Ericka) Evans and Jenna (Steven) Carroll; great-granddaughter, Holly Evans; sister-in-law, Caryl (Dr. John) Lloyd; niece, Alexandria (Andrew) Exline; many dear friends.
Friends may visit 3 – 4 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147, where a celebration of life will follow at 4:00 p.m. Those who wish may donate to the Pickering House, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in Chuck’s memory.
