Charles G Simpson

Charles “Charlie” Simpson, age 99, passed away on December 30, 2020 in Columbus, OH. He was born on December, 3rd, 1921, in Columbus, to the late Francis Grover “Pop” and Leotta (McWhirt) Simpson. Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Navy, Seaman First Class USNR. He was a Mason since 1953 of Sunrise Lodge No. 783, and always carried fond memories of Columbus’ old East end. He worked many years at Galbreath Mortgage Co and attended their yearly gatherings. Charlie is survived by his son, Bill (Selinda) Simpson, Matt (Barri) Simpson; and Stepson Denny (Beth)Sherman. Grandchildren, Scott Simpson (Saisha), Eric Simpson, Kyle Simpson, Brian Simpson, Shelby Simpson, Russ (Deena) Sherman, Ed (Kim) Sherman; great-grandchildren, Connor & Makayla Simpson; Hannah, Ty, Catie, Sam; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Florence “Jean” (Wright) Simpson; brothers Paul (Elizabeth) and Ward (Vera) Simpson.

Friends may visit Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 4-7pm at DWAYNE R SPENCE FUNERAL HOME 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester Ohio, 43110. A funeral service will be held the following day Friday, March 26, at 11am at the funeral home.
