Claire M. Wachtel

Claire M. Wachtel, age 91, of Canal Winchester, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Born May 21, 1929 in Columbus to the late William and Loretta (Huff) Courtright. She was a graduate of Columbus Central High School, and was a longtime employee at Key Oldsmobile.
She is survived by her children, Christopher (Karen) Wachtel, Candice (Paul) VanSchepen, and Timothy Wachtel; grandchildren, Ron (Wendi) Briggs, Michael (Laura) VanSchepen, Elizabeth (Will) Risch, David (fiancee, Carrie Barrow) VanSchepen; brother, William (Pat) Courtright; special nieces, Barbara, Pam, and Kathie.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Wachtel in 2009.
A graveside service will be held 12 noon Saturday at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway with the Rev. Frank Priddy officiating.
