Clarence David Oyer, age 78, formerly of New Albany, Ohio passed away on October 29, 2018. He was born on April 4, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Tobias Oyer and Iva Marie (Schilling) Oyer. He was a graduate of New Albany High School. He worked at Columbus Auto Parts and retired from the state of Ohio. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Violet Township Fire Department. He established a development in Pickerington named (Marie Lane) off of Long Rd. He was one of the founding members of the PYAA and spent many years volunteering for the Pickerington Community. He was a member of the Sebring Lakes Civics Association in Sebring, Florida. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with his family and friends.
Dave is survived by his four children, Robert (Karen) Oyer, Robin (William) Everett, Rodney (Julie) Oyer and Roxanne (Doug) Burton; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Donna Fonte. In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Oyer and his nephew, Tobias Oyer. Family and friends may visit 5-7:30pm on Thursday, November 1, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 550 Hill Rd. N. Pickerington, OH 43147 with a funeral service to follow at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
