Claudia J. Speakman

Claudia J. (Neis) Speakman, age 76, passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 7, 2021. She was born on February 6, 1944, and grew up in Mangum, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State University, graduated from George Washington University with a BS, and later graduated from Capital University Law School. Having lived in Ohio since 1971, she was a retired attorney and executive assistant to the state superintendent, Ohio Department of Education. Claudia is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Jack. She was a member of Church of the Redeemer United Methodist Church, The Transition Network, Columbus Ski Club, and Altrusa International of Columbus, Ohio, Inc., serving in local, district, and international leadership roles. Claudia was an avid skier and bird watcher and enjoyed traveling. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
