Don Brewer

Donald Thomas Brewer, 79, of Pickerington, Ohio peacefully passed away at home on August 18, 2018. Don was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 13, 1939 to Mary (Russell) and Donald Brewer. He was preceded in death by his sister (Janice Brewer Grzely). Don was the consummate family man and friend, providing love and unwavering support to the many lives he touched and influenced. His ability to enjoy life, laugh at himself and be a role model as father, grandfather and uncle will be his lasting legacy. When not spending time with his friends on the golf course and at the Baltimore, Ohio VFW, Don treasured being with family at his beloved Brushy Fork Farm, enjoying the outdoors and playing the role of gentleman farmer.

He is survived by his children, Scott Brewer (Kristen), Mark Brewer (Tamara), Trisha Tierney, Eric Brewer (Sharee Brandler) and his prized grandchildren, Megan, Claire, Morgan, William, Mitchell and Paige. Don proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and after an honorable discharge, continued his passionate support for the U.S. military and its veterans for his entire life. After leaving the Air Force, Don joined Columbia Gas of Ohio where he spent his entire thirty-nine year professional career. Visitation will be held at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME in Pickerington, Ohio on Friday, August 24 from 6PM – 8PM. A graveside service will be held at Violet Township Cemetery, Saturday, August 25 at noon, followed by a celebration of Don’s life at the Baltimore VFW. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the USO (www.uso.org) or the Veterans of Foreign Wars (www.vfw.org).
