Donald L. Russell, sunrise November 18, 1932 Parkersburg, West Virginia, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Pickerington, Ohio. Joined with the Angel’s Chorus under the direction of His Lord and Savior Jesus to continue the gift of music. Don graduated from Parkersburg High School, class of 1950, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1960. His primary work was with the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission until his retirement in 1991. His hobbies were in small art-crafting, woodworking, pen/ink drawing and music, including a small reference library and music collection. He was a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred “Sue” Russell; children, Kenneth Russell, Columbus, Teresa (Mark) Wigginton, Westerville, Laura (Ron) Honeycutt, Pickerington; grandchildren, Daniel (Theresa) Wigginton, Amanda Honeycutt, Katie (Louis) Siegrist, Benjerman Russell, Morgan (Andrew) Otto; great-grandchildren, Landon, Finn, and Kinley Siegrist, Rosalie Otto, Huxley, Bowen, and Callan Wigginton; sister, Jean (George) Reid, Westerville; and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Coy B. Russell and Edna Marie of West Virginia; sister, Rosalie (Louis) Shannon; brothers, Edwin (Faith) Russell, Robert (Ruth) Russell, and Harold Russell. Services conducted by the Rev. Elaine Sturtz will be private for the family, with interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to either Hospice of Central Ohio or Peace United Methodist Church in Don’s memory.
