Earl W. Cathers, age 92, of Canal Winchester, died Sunday, May 1, 2022 at his residence. Born April 3, 1930 in Columbus to the late John E. & Irma (Bender) Cathers. He was a 1948 graduate of Canal Winchester High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from South Central Power with 43 years of service, and was a member of Grace Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marilyn Cathers; son, Mark (Robin) Cathers, Lancaster; daughter, Jane (Kim) Root, Carroll; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lindsay) Cathers, Michael (Jennifer) Cathers, Joel (Megan) Cathers, Kristin (Bill) Patterson, Andrew (Brittany) Root, Jessica (Matthew) Pinion, Alex (Stefanie) Root; great-grandchildren, Layla, Gabrielle, Liam, Neal, Campbell, Parker, Sam, Jack, Silas, Hazel, Archie, Olive, and Fulton; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Robert, and Howard Cathers.
Friends may visit 5-7 pm Friday at Grace Bible Church, 424 Gender Rd., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 10:30 am Saturday with the Rev. Timothy Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Betzer Cemetery.
