Edward Barnhart

Edward “Ed” Barnhart, age 78, of Canal Winchester, OH died peacefully August 17, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital due to complications from heart disease. Born February 12, 1940 to the late Dorothy (Deter) Berner and John Wesley Barnhart. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves. Ed coached little league football and served on city council in Canal Winchester. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God. Ed was a Ham Radio operator and enjoyed visiting Lake Erie. Preceded in death by his sister, Judith McGovern.

Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Karen; children, Tonya (Rod) Brown, David (Debbie) Barnhart, Richard Barnhart and Robert (Cindy) Barnhart; grandchildren, Robert (Sarah) Brown, Kaylin (Daniel) Felder, Aaron (Johanna) Brown, Blake, Emily and Hanna Barnhart, Leah and Maya Barnhart and Jacob Barnhart. Family and friends may visit 5-8:00pm on Tuesday, August 21, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, August 23, at the funeral home.
