Tribute

Elizabeth Ann Ehlshlager Brown passed away on Wednesday October 6th at Wesley Ridge Assisted Living in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She lived an adventurous life abroad as a dedicated wife and mother.
Ann was born at home on October 4, 1941, in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. She went on to receive a Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1963 from Emory and Henry College. A few years later, Ann married a young Foreign Service Officer she met at church. With this union came unforgettable opportunities to travel the world and live for several years in Spain, Brazil, Mauritius, and Uruguay.
A devoted wife, Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ambassador Richard Clay Brown. A selfless parent, Ann never stopped being a teacher at heart, supporting her children's development by encouraging their interests. She was a beloved mother to grandnephew Ron Miller (Trish); grandniece Lori Ballantini (Al); daughter Tara Jones (Eric); and son Justin Brown (Megan Kearns); grandmother to Monique Van Note and Stefanie Miller; Heather Macon, Nick Ratti, and Hailey Ballantini; Sydney and Teagan Jones; and Aniya Kearns Brown; and is also survived by her brother, Karl Ehlshlager (Charlotte), and niece Mary Ann Ehlshlager. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Wesley Ridge Retirement Community Chapel in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Salvation Army or Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Wesley Ridge for creating a wonderful, caring home environment for Ann in her final years. They would also like to thank the staff at Mount Carmel Hospice for providing Ann such personalized and gracious care as her time on earth drew to a close.
