Eugene Charles Hinterschied Sr

Eugene Charles Hinterschied Sr, age 95, died Sunday, January 29, 2023. Born August 12, 1927 in Columbus, OH to the late William and Mary Edith Hintershied. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and son, Eugene Hintershied Jr.
Eugene is survived by his children, William (Betsy) Hinterschied, Lorraine Hinterschied, Amy (Lynn Callendar) Hinterschied, Eric Hinterschied; grandchildren, Shawn (Stephanie) Hinterschied, David Hinterschied, Bill (Erin Timmerman) Hinterschied, Amanda (Nicholas) Bergeron, Rachel (Chad) Felter,; great-grandchildren, Greyson Hinterschied, Charlie, Juniper, and Theodore Felter, Charlotte Bergeron. Eugene is also survived by his longtime companion, Helen Walsh.
Eugene attended Holy Rosary and Acquinas High School and received dual Bachelor’s Degrees from The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S Army (now Air Force) during WWII before working and retiring from Franklin County Engineers, as well as the Butler Report. Eugene was a longtime member of the Columbus Maennerchor where he would serve as president and a longtime choir member. He also sang and served as a member of Germania Singing-Sport Society. Eugene was a loyal Buckeye fan and loved to watch golf.
