Eva Jean Fields

Eva Jean Fields, age 77, of Pickerington, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 4, 1946 to the late Charles S. and Martha A. (Langley) Smith in Pike County, Ohio.

Eva attended and graduated from Portsmouth West High School class of 1964. She was one of nine children, creating many memories with her large family. She enjoyed baking and reading in her spare time. Traveling was something she loved to do, from visiting the beach to going to her favorite destination the Grand Canyon. Eva was an avid sports fan who loved Ohio State Buckeye football and basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Pataskala United Methodist Church for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Martha C Smith, Charles Smith Jr., Mary J. White, John E. Smith, Victor E. Smith, and Glenna Haag.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene A. Fields; sons, Mark Fields and Matt (Debbie) Fields; grandchildren, Naomi Fields, Tori Fields, Alexis Fields; brothers, Rex (Connie) Smith and James (Billie) Smith; in-laws, Paul Haag and Cora Smith.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Noon at the Pataskala United Methodist church. 458 S Main St, Pataskala, OH 43062. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church in memory of Eva.
