Evelyn Hazel Miller, 21 months old, was pronounced an angel on August 28 after a sudden and short illness. On November 17, 2016, she was born and will forever bless the lives of her parents, Daddy and Mommy (Matt and Kara Miller). Her bright star will continue in the lives of her grandparents, Pa and Gram (Chuck and Penny Miller), Grandpa (Gary Buirley, Li-Ming), Grandma (Gail Hart), Grammie (Linda Cottrell), Great Grandma Hart (Sue Hart), and Great Grandma Buirley (Sarah Buirley). Evelyn was beloved by her Aunts and Uncles, Mark, Melissa and Zach, Michael and Kelsey, and Ashley and Charles, and her cousins, Otto and Maeve. She is loved to the moon and back by many great aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of her family.
Evelyn was loving, sweet, smart, silly, strong, and adventurous. She loved and was kind to everyone she met, and was incredibly nurturing, especially to other children. Evelyn adored her teachers and friends at Primrose School, Princess Poppy and Moana, playing outside, swimming, reading books, music, and dancing. She loved her time visiting “Grandma’s House”, going with Bob to Duckies for ice cream, and visiting the zoo with Grandpa. Gram Day Thursdays with Pa, Max Dog, and Kitty Cat were always a highlight of her week. Evelyn was beautiful inside and out. She will always be fiercely loved and never forgotten.
On August 29, Evelyn went on her final earthly journey and gave the gift of life though organ donation. It is our prayer and hope that she becomes a miracle for others.
Family and friends are welcome to visit 11:00am – 3:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, September 8th at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 80 North Market Street, Lithopolis, OH.
The family has established the “Evelyn Hazel Miller Memorial Fund” through the Canal Winchester Huntington Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to this fund. Donations will be used in loving honor and memory of Evelyn in a way that will be determined at a later date.
