Fannie H. Belek, age 99, of Lithopolis, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her residence. Born June 11, 1919 in Roanoke, AL to the late John Wyatt & Fannie Ella (Hadley) Heflin. She was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during WWII, and was a graduate of Auburn University. She was a retired elementary school teacher with Groveport Madison School District, and was a member of Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Louis M. Belek in 1999; daughter, Margaret Belek; and eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by children, Martha (Weldon) Phelps, Memphis, TN, Michael (Barbara) Belek, Lithopolis, Jonathan (Sandra) Belek, Ft. Worth, TX; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit 6-8 pm Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday with Pastor Jonathan Mann officiating. Interment with military honors at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
