Freda Joan Palombo
February 11, 1932 ~ June 22, 2022 (age 90) 90 Years Old
Joan "Vix" (Alspach) Palombo, age 90, joined her husband Felix "Cat" in Heaven on June 22, 2022, at home with her family by her side. Joan grew up in the Village of Waterloo and was a 1950 graduate of Canal Winchester High School. She was preceded in death by her parents John David Alspach and Mary Alice (Dunkle) Alspach, her brother Richard, and most recently her beloved husband of 68 years Felix Augustus Palombo. She is survived by her twin sisters, Mary Lou (Alspach) Glascock and Martha Lee (Alspach) Anneshansley. Joan loved riding and caring for her horse, Mystic Symbol, antiquing and estate sales, was an avid reader, enjoyed tending her gardens, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeye basketball team and attending the Ohio State football games and Skull Sessions to watch the marching band. Joan "Grammy" was an amazing mom and grandmother raising her 5 children and caring and spending time with all her grandchildren. Joan was a member of St. John XXIII Church in Lithopolis. Joan and Felix enjoyed spending their winters at their second home in Titusville, Florida with all their "snowbird" friends. Joan is survived by her children; Susan (Greg), John (Diane), Joe, Patricia (Gary), and Mike (Julee). Grandchildren, Taylor, Cody (fiancee Samantha), Chad, Sara, Chase, Joce, Trent, Dominic, Zach (Carmel), Nic (fiancee Catherine), Jake, Sammi and Great Grandchild, Adrian Felix Bartlett. The family will be having a private memorial service for their parents on their beloved property. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canal Winchester Historical Society, 10 West Oak Street, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110 in Joan's name would be appreciated.
