Howard R. Milnor

Howard R. Milnor, age 85, of Pickerington, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Pickerington Nursing & Rehab where he had resided for several years. Born April 12, 1932 in Pickerington to the late Charley & Myrtle (Bauer) Milnor. He was a retired farmer and member of Peace United Methodist Church.
Despite significant physical challenges, Howard was an accomplished pianist and organist; and in later years he played entirely from memory. Over the years, he regularly played at weddings and local restaurants, and he played for church services until just prior to his death.  Additionally, he provided the music for weekly sing-a-longs at the nursing home every Friday for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Milnor and Kenneth (Margaret) Milnor; and sister, Helen Marie (Joseph) Bensonhafer.
He is survived by three nieces, Linda Bensonhafer (Jerry) Lewis, Anna Bensonhafer (Bob) Rathburn, and Anita Milnor (Dick) Stilley; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit 5-8 pm Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where funeral service will be held 10:30 am Monday, with Pastor Stuart Delaney officiating. Interment Violet Cemetery.
