J. Duvall Brannon

James Duvall Brannon, age 21, passed away on November 11, 2022. “Duvall” was born on May 13, 2001, to D. Dulcie Ricketts and J. Bart Brannon. Duvall was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn L. Ewers; grandfather, John T. Ricketts; brother, Blake T. Ricketts; and cousin, Dustin Delgouffre.
   Duvall is survived by his son, Grey Woodruff and Grey’s mother, Brooke; his mother, Dulcie Ricketts (Rick); father, Bart Brannon (Brandie); brother R. Dillon Ricketts (Lauren Colby); sisters, Charlie and Livie Brannon, and Taylor McLaughlin (Alec); grandparents, James Ewers, Sally Weller, Jerry Brannon (Bonnie), Rita Ricketts, David Edwards (Patricia); nephew, Emmett McLaughlin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
   Born and raised in Pickerington, Ohio, Duvall was a 2020 graduate of Pickerington North High School where he played soccer as a center mid-fielder. He also developed numerous lasting friendships and impacted all those with which he interacted.
   Duvall will be remembered for his loving and caring personality, kind heart, infectious laugh, amazing hugs, and beautiful smile. Duvall was an avid sports fan, especially his beloved Browns and Buckeyes. In his spare time, he enjoyed weightlifting and video games. In addition to having great love for his family and friends, Duvall loved all his pets, particularly his ferret, Zeke. Duvall also treasured his prized panther tattoo, which has his son’s date and time of birth, on his left arm.
   Visitation is scheduled from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio; and from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, November 18, with the funeral service at noon at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, with Pastor Brad Gee, officiating.
   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Duvall’s memory to either the Heart of Ohio Ferret Association, or the Duvall Brannon Foundation Fund, c/o the Fairfield Foundation, which will support, in perpetuity, projects and programs that were meaningful to Duvall.
