James I. Harless Jr. passed away on June 2, 2022 in Columbus, OH. He was born on March 10, 1946 in Justice, WV to James I. Sr. and Roberta Harless. James was the owner of Minutemen Heating & Cooling for 44 years and a decorated U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran with a Bronze Star with Valor. He was a member of Potter’s House Church of God, American Legion-Canal Winchester and VFW-Lithopolis. James enjoyed collecting coins, making coin rings, fishing, gardening and riding his motorcycle when he was younger. He was also an avid dog lover.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Harless; son, Jimmy Harless III; step-son, Scott (Tammy) Thomas; step-daughter, Sarah Thomas; sister, Alice Clay; brother, Jay Harless; sister, Louetta Shave; sister, Cathy (Don) Hill and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shelly Harless; brother, Charles Gordon Harless and sister, Sue Eden.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Lithopolis Cemetery.
