Janet Claire Cockett

Janet Claire Cockett, age 67, of Pickerington, OH passed away Monday, September 14, 2020.  Janet was born on November 19, 1952 to the late Arthur and Gladys (Peters) Cockett.  She grew up in Sewanee, TN and was a graduate of Sewanee Military Academy (now St. Andrews Sewanee School) and Miami University (OH).  Janet retired from teaching in the Columbus City School District in 2015 where she spent most of her 30-year career at Oakmont Elementary school.
Janet is survived by her sister, Kathy (David) Palmer of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Bill (Sharon Stafford) Cockett of Boone, NC and Art (Cyndi) Cockett of Lisbon, CT; nieces Molly and Alison; nephew Christopher (Kyra) Palmer; great niece Layla Palmer; and many Columbus area friends.
Due to COVID, a memorial service will be held in Sewanee at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to:
