Janice Emily Stephens

Janice Emily (Thomson) Stephens passed away May 31st, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio (Mt. Carmel East). She was born on March 24th 1931, in Rochester, Michigan to the late, James and Bernice (Graybill) Thomson. She was sister to her brothers, Jim and Glen; sister, Sharon. Janice attended and graduated Rochester High School in 1949. On June 23, 1951, Janice married her high school sweetheart, Paul. Throughout her life she was a fulltime mother, devoted wife, and part-time bank teller. She valued her lifelong friendships with the neighborhood women of Shadywood that would meet regularly for coffee, her bridge and card club groups, the Reynoldsburg neighborhood golfing couples and the friends and families of North American Rockwell. However, valued more than that were the yearly family vacations to Holden Beach and the “Casa Del Sol”, where a lifetime of memories were forged.
She is survived by her son, Thomas M. (Maryanne); grandchildren, Thomas Jared (TJ), Kyle, Nicole, Jeremy (Kara), Jessica, Jennifer (Rikki), and Jodie; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kinsey and Ashlyn.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Stephens and their oldest son, Mark Allen Stephens; brothers, Jim and Glen; sister, Sharon.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 5th, 2023 at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME 550 Hill Rd N, Pickerington, OH 43147 at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be found at spencefuneralhome.com.
