Jayson Edward Hatfield, age 48, formerly of Canal Winchester, Ohio, passed away on January 26, 2023.
Born on November 29, 1974, in Dayton, Ohio, to Cheryl (Jones) Hilliard and Edward Hatfield (deceased), Jay was raised by his loving parents Cheryl and Richard Hilliard. After graduating from Canal Winchester High School in 1993, Jay became skilled in factory trades and had a variety of jobs in the automotive and logistics industries including working many years at GM, Delphi, and Forward Air. Jay loved fixing and repairing anything for anyone in need.
Jayson was preceded in death by loving grandparents “Mamaw and Papaw” Robert and Nancy Jones and “Mamaw Betty” Surface.
He is survived by his parents and by his son, Benjamin Hatfield, of Queen Creek, Arizona, and his daughter, Autumn Hatfield, of Springfield, Ohio. He is also survived by his siblings, LeAndrea Miller of Carroll, Ohio, Brock (Chelsea) Hilliard of Wyoming, Ohio, and Rachel (Doug) Hamann of Cincinnati; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and good friend Tom Smith.
Friends may visit 2-4 pm Monday, February 6 at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where a memorial service will follow at 4 pm with Pastor Steve Rauch officiating. Interment will take place later at Dayton Memorial Park.
