Jeannette Manuel

Jeannette (Jeanne) Helen Manuel, 86, of Pickerington, Ohio, passed peacefully on February 25, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born August 15 1932, in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Irene Heyer.

Jeannette graduated from Middlesex County High School in New Jersey and attended business college. Over the years she was actively involved in the Rainbow Girls, Campfire Girls, Family Ties Square Dance Group, AFS Student Exchange Program, various softball and bowling leagues, and the Violet Township Women's League. She worked for the Pickerington Local School District as a bus driver for 33 years and served as a Red Coat on game days at The Ohio State University. She was an avid Buckeye fan, rarely missing a home football game. Her late husband, Donald Manuel always supported “that team up north” just to agitate Jeanne.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Manuel, grandchildren Zachary Manuel and Kathryn Braskie, great-grandchildren, Ostin, Baylee, and Aaron, and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne enjoyed her several non-biological grandchildren who she kept in line over the years and will now serve as pallbearers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Manuel and brothers Edward and Robert Heyer.

Friends and family may visit from 2-5 on Sunday, March 3, at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Rd. N, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 4, Mark Linn officiating. Interment at Violet Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Home Helpers and Fairhope Hospice for their help and support.
