Jo Ann Walker

Jo Ann Walker, age 87, of Canal Winchester, OH went to be with the Lord December 28, 2020. She was born October 4, 1933 in Columbus, OH to the late Herbert and Frances Derwent, raised by her grandmother, Edith Derwent Redman until she was 11 years old. She was then raised by Elmer and Ruth Pfleager from age 12 to her late teens. Jo Ann worked as an Executive Secretary for Columbia Gas for many years. She loved reading, knitting hats and blankets, watching Westerns with her husband and spending time making memories with her family. Jo Ann’s greatest passion was sharing her love to all that knew her and opening her home to many people, making each person feel special.

Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jack Walker; brother, Herb Derwent; and daughter-in-law, Deni Walker. Survivors include her three sons, Ted (Janet) Walker, Mike (Diana) Walker and Brad (Tina) Walker; 8 grandchildren, Brandon (Jackie) Walker, Heidi (Jason) Gaulden, Todd (Amanda) Walker, Troy (Amanda) Walker, Necole (Scott) Spencer, Kyle (Mandy) Walker, Chelsie (Jimmy) Harmon and Michael (Courtney) Walker II; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Pavon, Jean Pfleager, Carol (Archie) Emswiler, Sharon Hanshaw and Catherine Donna; brothers, Edward “Skip” (Barb) Pfleager and Hank (Barb) Smith; special cousins, Barbara Williams and Pam Adams Hardman; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends may visit 11-1:00pm on Friday, January 8, at X Church, 6600 Bigerton Bend, Canal Winchester, OH 43110 with a memorial service to follow at 1:00pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeff Zangmeister, the Zangmeister Cancer Center and Mt. Carmel Hospice for their excellent care and support. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
