John Joseph Burns

John Joseph Burns, age 85, of Pickerington, OH passed away October 25, 2020. He was born February 16, 1935 in Johnstown, PA. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a loyal member of Seton Parish Catholic Church and served as an adorer within the church. John enjoyed his time as an usher with CAPA. He was an avid Blue Jackets fan and enjoyed watching them. Preceded in death by his son, Kevin Burns. Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene Burns; children, Coelleen (Ian) Gerhard, Mike J. Burns and Janice L. (Alton) Austin; step-son, Matthew (Maria) Garcia; stepdaughter, Michelle (Timothy) Garcia-Juchter; and 11 grandchildren. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, October 30, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N. Pickerington, OH 43147. Interment at Lithopolis Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to the Special Olympics.
