John Aaron Farley

John Aaron Farley, age 41, also affectionately known as Aaron, Daddy, A-A-ron, Far, Doc, Mooner, Chili, and Uncle Hog Head, crossed the ultimate finish line on January 8, 2022, after fighting so strongly for 19 days after an unexpected motor vehicle accident. Aaron was born April 3, 1980 in Columbus, Ohio and from that day on has been a Buckeye for life. Aaron graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 1999, where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life when he was 17, whom he later married on July 17, 2004. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and has since been a devoted and invaluable asset to lead Ludowici’s technical service department for 17 years. Aaron had a love for life, a caring heart towards others, and loved his family beyond words, always putting them before himself. He never missed a minute to cheer on or encourage his kids in anything and everything they did or step in to be a positive presence in someone else’s life. He was also the hardest working inspiration to others, from manual labor and helping out at home, to his preciseness and superior quality at his job and making the perfect and most immaculate Valentine’s Day cards or birthday cakes. His most recent project of designing and restoring an old family home, into a dream home for him and his family, is still currently in the works with his fingerprint on every detail. Aaron loved the Lord and took every opportunity to instill that love into his children and friends as a true disciple would do. He attended Lithopolis United Methodist Church for the last 23 years, where he took every chance to serve the Lord and make an impact in the community around him. Aaron will be forever missed for his unconditional love for others, sincere kindness and compassion, his laugh, sense of humor, creative spirit, common sense we all needed and advice on life, honesty, sparkling blue eyes, smile, dance moves, big bear hugs, and the amazing company he provided, but we know he will live on forever in our hearts and the hearts of so many who were blessed enough to know him and be a part of his life. Aaron’s life was a living example of the Bible verse Ephesians 4:32–”Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Aaron was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Gerhold; grandparents, Jack and Irene Farley and Joe and Mary Rappold. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 17 years, Katy Farley; three strong, compassionate, and beautiful children, Sam, Emma, and Maggie; father Matthew Farley; sisters, Michelle (Mike) Glanzman and Katie (Juan) Martinez; father and mother-in-law, David and Peggy Smith; brother-in-law, Mark (Megan) Smith; nieces and nephews, Anna, Isaac, AJ, and Evie Glanzman, Sofia, Lena, Maya, and Reggie Martinez, Meredith, Ryan, and Luke Smith, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, special friends that are like family, Todd and Kristy Lilley, and Matt and Amy Bratton, as well as a multitude of friends from all parts of his life. Family and friends may visit from 2-5:00pm on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Lithopolis United Methodist Church’s Multi-Ministry Center, 80 N. Market St., Lithopolis, Oh 43136. Those who would like to celebrate Aaron’s life are invited to a service at the church on Monday Jan 17, 2022 beginning at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Alex Feldman. Family and friends will be dressing for the service in Buckeye game day attire and encourage all others to do the same as this is how Aaron would want us to celebrate him.
