John M. Hill, age 75, of Etna, died Monday, September 27, 2021 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born August 9, 1946 in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, and retired as a lieutenant with the Columbus Division of Fire with 30 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 239 in Worthington. John was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and watching the Buckeyes. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Hill; sons, Kyle (Paula) Hill, Westerville, and Kevin (Jenn) Hill, Marysville; grandchildren, Camryn Hill, Zachary Hill, and Kennedy Hill; his mother, Lois Gram, Springfield; sisters, Karen (Dave) Speas, Diane Stroop, Jamie (John) Przybycien; sister-in-law, Janet (John) Cox; brothers-in-law, Rick (Marlene) Derry, Jim (Pam) Derry; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Hill; step-father, Jim Gram; brother, Jimmy Gram; and brother-in-law, Wally Derry.
Friends may visit 11 am to 1 pm Monday, Oct. 4 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 550 Hill Rd N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Chip Koch officiating.
