August 18, 1943 ~ June 2, 2022 (age 78) 78 Years Old
Joseph A. Jamison age 78, of Canal Winchester, OH passed away June 2, 2022. He was born August 18, 1943 in West Lafayette, IN to the late William and Anna Jamison. He graduated from Finneytown High School in 1962 and Miami University of Ohio in 1967. Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force. For 30 years he was a teacher at Reynoldsburg High School. He was a member of the Sierra Club. Joe was a car enthusiast, enjoyed boating, camping trips to Kabe, MN and most importantly, loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. In addition to the parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Alan Jamison; former wife, Jacqueline Gannon; step-mother, Elizabeth Jamison. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Susanne Jamison; five sons, Bret (Kim) Jamison, Kirk (Ellen) Jamison, Ty (Kelly) Jamison, Mark (Cheryl) Holzapfel and Steven (Kathleen) Holzapfel; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Emmett (Kayla), Hunter, Sidney, Colt, Ethan and Emily; brother, John (Sue) Jamison; sister, Lisa (Dave) Laspas; and special friends, Jim and Carol Sander and Sandy Lawrence. A gathering for family and friends will be 1-4:00pm on Saturday, June 25, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Macular Degeneration at the BrightFocus Foundation, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
