Tribute

Judith “Judy” A. Neckel, age 76, of Pickerington, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born May 21, 1944 in Cincinnati to the late Roy and Edith (Wesley) Dick, her early life was spent in Cincinnati where she forged an unbreakable bond and a lifetime of memories with her older sister Barb (Jim) Carson (survived) and their daughter Lori Carson. She was a graduate of North College Hill High School where she met her husband, Barry Neckel.
Survived by Barry, they were married for 55 years. Judy and Barry moved to Columbus to start their family, and raised two daughters, Angie Hess and Ali (Jeff) Quattro in Pickerington, and later; grandchildren, Brooke, Lindie, Mollie, and Emmie Hess, Eve and Nick Quattro.
Her legacy is her family as it is what she treasured most, and dedicated her entire self into their love, happiness and passions. Judy was most often found in the bleachers or concert halls supporting and cheering on her daughters and grandchildren. Her devotion to their loves and undying support of their dreams made her their world as much as they were hers. She was called Grandma by more than just her immediate family, but also to the hundreds of students that touched her heart at 1st Steps to Broadway, School of Dance. She was to them what she had always been to her family, a warm smile, a caring hug, and an encouraging voice always helping to push you to your best self.
She believed in hard work, honesty, and the power of positivity to make anything that seemed impossible possible. Judy’s legacy is in the little bit of herself she gave to everyone that she met. She will forever be with us as the little voice inside, guiding us to our dreams.
A private service will be held at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, Pickerington, with interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
