Justin Lee Marteney

Justin Lee Marteney, who passed away in his sleep on August 30, 2021 was greatly loved, counted on, and admired by many. He was born in Cambridge, Ohio, December 13, 1969. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 27 years, who was the respected and cherished love of his life, beloved sons Connor and Jarod, mother Helen, special uncle Jeff and aunt Marcella, along with several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and an abundance of friends.

Justin's acts of service were legendary. Many have shared the ways he was always ready to help using his many talents and areas of knowledge. The Boy Scouts and 4-H shooting sports programs were his passion. In working with youth in the 4-H program, Justin provided opportunities for kids to fulfill the motto “To Make The Best Better.” As an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow member, and his many other leadership roles, Justin was a mentor and often a father figure to many youth and young adults. He is remembered as an avid euchre and volleyball player, a design instructor at CCAD, and a sought-after handyman.

Surely, Justin will be remembered as a good and faithful servant not only as a Christian and member of the Lithopolis United Methodist Church but also in the way he lived his life. Son Connor expressed it best saying, “He led by example, always doing the right thing, even if it took up his time or was an inconvenience to him.” Justin was a man of faith, and his face is one we all look forward to seeing again in heaven.

A Celebration of Justin's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 25th at the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd. Reynoldsburg, Oh 43068. Masks will be optional.
