Kenneth Ethan Kohner, age 21, of Pickerington, OH passed away unexpectedly as a result of injuries sustained by a traumatic work related accident on September 13, 2018. He was born June 12, 1997 in Columbus, OH. Ethan graduated from Pickerington Central High School class of 2015 and was an avid hockey player and video gamer. He volunteered many years as a hockey coach for Columbus Ice Hockey Club. Ethan played varsity hockey for the Prowler Hockey Association.
Preceded in death by his great grandparents, Ken and Norma Van Heukelum, Barney Furno, Regina Kravanja, Edwin and Mary Clare Kohner, Charles and Cecelia Fennell; grandfather, Edward Haines; and cousin, Charles Bazala II. Survivors include his parents, Lincoln and Carrie Kohner; sister, Kalica Kohner; grandparents, Robert and Pamela Kohner, Bernice Haines; fiancé, Payton Owen; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. A memorial service will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 16, at Asbury United Methodist Church South, 4760 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232. Arrangements by DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, Pickerington, OH. The family has requested hockey attire be worn by all family and friends for the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, 200 W. Nationwide Blvd, Columbus, OH 43215.
