Kevin Matthew Spires

July 10, 1960 ~ November 10, 2023 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Tribute

Kevin Matthew Spires, aged 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Ohio State University Hospital. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on July 10, 1960, to Patricia and William Spires.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carol; son Cory (Miranda) Spires; daughter Katie Spires, granddaughter, Anniston Spires; mother Patty Spires; sister Lisa Robertson, brother-in-law Tim (Martha) Priser; sisters-in-law Anne (Joe) Dixon and Sarah (Chris) Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kevin is a 1978 graduate of Canal Winchester High School and a graduate of Ohio University. On June 23, 1984, he married the love of his life, Carol. Kevin and Carol supported each other to reach their many life goals including building a beautiful home in the country where they raised their family, complete with horses (he was an amazing “horse tolerater”). Together, they encouraged each other to further their education and advance in their careers. Kevin loved his work but also loved to travel. Kevin joined IPS last July as a Senior Account Executive. His professionalism and technical savvy made him an invaluable asset but his optimism, determination and continued positive outlook toward overcoming challenges made him stand out.

He loved being part of the CWHS band family; that love for music continued and included everything from the Doobie Brothers, jazz, Jim Brickman to Classical. He enjoyed owning unique automobiles ranging from a classic 1927 Whippet, a 2017 Laguna Blue Corvette, to a new, bright orange, Solar Octane Tacoma. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Catholic Church in Pickerington. He was a most kindhearted and compassionate person, a devoted husband, an amazing father, and a great friend and coworker, who put family first, always. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
